Working closely with the school’s principal, we set out to create a mural that would not only brighten the campus but also reflect the vibrant, inclusive spirit of the Brookvale Public School community. From the outset, collaboration was key. We consulted on the concept, palette, and style to ensure the final work would align with the school’s values and resonate with students, staff, and families.

To make the mural truly meaningful, we invited the students to participate in the design process by voting on their favourite artwork direction. Their involvement generated genuine excitement and connection with the project, helping them feel seen and proud of the transformation happening at their school.

The final mural features bold colour, dynamic forms, and an uplifting tone that now welcomes students and visitors daily. Painted with 98% recycled materials, the work highlights both the school’s and The Art of Wall’s shared commitment to sustainability, creativity, and thoughtful design.

The Art of Wall acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and create. In Brookvale, we pay our respects to the Gayamaygal people of the Guringai Nation, and across the greater Sydney region, we acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation and the many other First Nations communities whose Country we travel through and paint on.
We honour their ongoing connection to land, waters, culture, and storytelling—and extend our respects to Elders past and present.
